The R.M.S Titanic set sail on April 10th, 1912 - five days before they sunk - from Southhampton, UK. The ship was bound for New York after having stopped at Cherbourg and Queenstown to pick up the rest of their passengers. New York docks were expecting the ship only seven days after their launch.
There were many ice warningss from other ships in the area, but the Titanic never listened. Someone ordered the Captain to go faster than what it was meant to, so it could reach New York in less than three days. They hit the iceberg and reported their location at 41°46′N, 50°14′W. When she was discovered, however, she was found at 41°44′N, 49°57′W.
